Champagne, popcorn, cookies and the Oscars!

Hello! Happy Thursday!

So I was going through my giant stock of craft paper and what not and came across a few printed popcorn box templates from when I hosted an Oscars party like 5 years ago! Then it dawned on me that this Sunday is the Oscars so I thought I'd share the template with you and a couple of other party prep ideas.

Ok, here is a download link to the Popcorn Box Template. This is set to print on an 11" x 17" card stock but you could also scale it down to fit on a smaller size card stock for mini popcorn boxes. Simply cut out both shapes, score all of the fold lines (the side flaps and the bases where the box sides will fold upward) and then position the two pieces perpendicular into a "+" shape and glue your flaps to the adjacent box sides. Voila! Popcorn boxes are ready to go!

I'm not gonna lie...I totally did not do my homework for this year's Academy Awards so I will be blindly guessing on my ballot. I never do well anyhow but it's still a lot of fun especially if you have friends over and do a little contest with it. The winner could get a bottle of champagne or maybe a Starbucks gift card or something. Sugar and Charm has a lovely Oscar's ballot that you can download here.

Have you seen Bakerella's Oscar Cookie Tutorial? So creative and I absolutely love these! I had made them for my Oscars party and they really are pretty easy to make. It was my first time ever making sugar cookies and royal icing from scratch and Angie does such a great job giving step by step details. Check it out here.

This year I will be tuning in to the award show with the family via the comforts of my couch and my pjs (and probably with a glass or two of champagne) but whether you are planning to do the same or have friends over, I hope it's a fun evening!

A Valentine's Ice Cream Sundae Play Date

Hi Friends! I recently purchased the Cricut Explorer and can I just tell you how much I LOVE IT!! With Valentine's Day around the corner I wanted to create a cute little XOXO banner but had been dreading all of the hand-cutting. With this Cricut Explorer it took me less than 30 minutes to design it, cut it and string it up. It would have taken me a couple of hours to do it by hand. Life saver is all I'm sayin'!

And I am in love with these photos of the two most ADORABLE 5 year olds...ok, I'm a bit biased because Mia is my oldest daughter and that is her best friend, Wyatt. My bestie and I were pregnant together and the kiddos are only 10 weeks apart so they have been friends literally from birth.

These two were nothing but hams and required no directing from me. I just let them have some fun and; of course, the ice cream sundaes were a pretty good incentive. J

Hope you have a great week!!
